Jon grew up in Winnipeg and went through Fine Arts at U of M then VFS for classical animation
What is your most memorable job outside of Kickstart?
My first job in the industry was a graveyard shift for digital ink and paint (I don't think that job exists anymore)
How many years have you been working in this industry?
Around 20
How did you get started with Kickstart Entertainment?
We started working together during a development deal for a show that Kickstart optioned.
What piece of advice do you wish you had been given when you first started working in this industry?
Eat well.
If you could give one piece of advice on how to get through a hard day, what would that be?
Eat well.
What is the highlight of your career so far?
Working with some nice people
What qualities do you look for in a mentor?
Someone that will put up with me.
Who are the fellow leaders you look to for inspiration and guidance?
Not sure it this means work - but I appreciate all the talented folks I work with and what they respectively add to the projects they work on and what insight and advice they can offer
What continues to motivate your work, or has that changed over the years?
I always enjoy the ability to be creative and solve problems during the process.
